Fat
Thumb artist, Michele Hirata, aka. the Fat Thumb Chick, designs and makes
one-of-a-kind Fat Thumb beanies knitted from 100% jersey fabric (t-shirt
material). She donates about two dozen beanies a month to individuals,
cancer centers, hospitals and non-profit organizations worldwide, free of charge.
Her fun, fashionable designs always attract a lot of attention and each
funky piece is sure to make you smile. Do you know someone who could use
a Fat Thumb, a smile? Please write and tell Michele your story, she'd
love to hear from you.
November 2010, USAA's Winter Magazine shared Michele's story with 5.1 million
of its subscribers. This generated over 600 hat requests from all over
the world. In order to afford this mass request, Michele started her own
business, Crepes de Pouce Gras, meaning Crepes of Fat Thumb. "I can
knit hats during the week and sell crepes on the weekend!" said,
Michele. Please visit the "Crepes de Pouce Gras" tab above and find out where you can purchase a delicious crepe. Helping
others was never so delicious!
